REPAIR - Samsung Galaxy S2 - Rooting the MUGMA5

ROOT for the stubborn MUGMA5:

Are you desperately seeking to root your Canadian Galaxy S2? Having as much trouble as me finding a way to do it?

A few weeks ago I set out on a journey to root my S2, why you ask?  Well there's this cool app called Sixaxis I wanted to use to pair my phone with a PSIII controller.  Rooting is required because of some Bluetooth protocol additions and things.  Do you think this should be such a difficult thing to find... well geez!

Anyhow, I found a easy way to root this phone and I'll let you in on what I have learned.

What you need:

The latest version of KIES installed: Here it is!
The SRS Root program from SRSROOT.COM

Make sure these are installed on your PC before proceeding.

What to do:

First of all "BACK UP YOUR PHONE DATA" you don't want to loose all your stuff if this goes crazy.

Also, try this at YOUR OWN RISK! It is possible to brick your phone.  So good luck!

If you are still with me, lets proceed...

Get into the settings on your phone:
Under "Developer Options" check USB Debugging

The head over to "Security" check Unknown sources:

Plug your phone into the USB on your computer and wait for everything to settle up.

Next, load up SRSRoot for Android.
Click Root (all methods)

Follow the instructions that you are presented and,
Wait for the "SUCCESS"!

...and then smack yourself for thinking this was such a hard thing to do...

Enjoy Root!

If you have any questions, let me know in the comment.  This method worked for me, where many others have failed.  It was also the simplest.  I am going to try it on my Tablet next.

Cheers!
